National Conference on Asian Pacific American Librarians Shared Visions:
Heritages, Scholarship, Progress


SAN FRANCISCO -- The Chinese American Librarians Association and the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association announced their first ever National Conference on Asian Pacific American Librarians, to be held on June 13-15, 2001 in San Francisco, immediately preceding the 2001 American Library Association Annual Conference.

The theme of the National Conference on Asian Pacific American Librarians, "Shared Visions," celebrates the pride of diverse heritages among librarians of Asian and Pacific Islander descent, the excellence of Asian American scholarship, and the progress in Asian American librarianship. The Conference will feature leadership institution, prominent literary, professional and political keynote speakers, award dinners and receptions, and exhibits. It will also provide diverse cultural entertainment and film presentations.
