LOCATION and DATE: Shanghai Library, March 22 to 25, 2005

CONFERENCE THEME: Knowledge Management in the Digital Age

SUB THEMES:
1. Construction and access to digital resources.
2. Theory and practice for information and knowledge management.
3 Research on user behavior.
4. Integrating core values into the digital library environment.
5. Cooperation between China and United States on knowledge management and service in the new age.

SPEAKERS and PAPERS: The US Planning Committee will select papers to be submitted and speakers who will represent the US on each of the topics during the conference.

Submit paper abstracts to gstrong@library.ucla.edu by August 31 to be considered.  Selection will take place in the fall.

The US Planning Committee will be meeting during the ALA conference in Orlando and at the IFLA conference in Buenos Aires. Please send your indication of interest immediately to reserve a space for consideration. The US delegation will be composed of 30 individuals.

EXPENSES: All travel to and from China, hotel accommodations and some meals will be the responsibility of each US delegate.

FUND RAISING: The US Planning Committee is responsible for assisting in funding the costs of the conference. Please let the committee know if you can help in this area.
